What the excursion is like

Etna changes a lot with altitude, and so does the weather. That's why how far we go is decided on the day, depending on the conditions.

We provide the gear: helmet, shoes, socks, trekking poles and a small backpack. The cable car ticket is extra.

This is not an excursion for anyone with heart or breathing problems: we don't take them up to high altitude, for their own safety. For everyone else, tell me your age and fitness and I'll let you know if it's right for you.

Questions about trekking

Is the trek difficult?

It depends on your fitness and the conditions on the day. Tell me your age and how active you are, and I'll let you know if it's right for you.

Will we see lava?

Rarely, and only if safety conditions allow it. I can't promise it: it depends on the conditions on the day.

Can I go on my own?

Yes, but only up to a certain altitude. Higher up, you can only go accompanied.

Will it be cold? Will it rain?

It depends on the day. In the mountains the weather can change from one moment to the next: we check the forecast and decide on the spot.

Can children come?

Yes, from age 8 and up, as long as they're physically up to it and it's safe.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the number of people and the time of year; the cable car is extra. Message me on WhatsApp and I'll send you a quote.

Before you go

Weather and volcanic activity decide whether we go up and how far, and the choice is made on the spot, on the day. High-altitude excursions are not suitable for anyone with heart or breathing problems.
